When you first receive your diagnosis, it is important to ask questions. Depending on who and how you were diagnosed, you may not have been given any information at all.
In my case, I was rushed from a dour surgeon’s office straight into the oncologist’s. The next time I went in (to a different specialist, mind you), I armed myself with specific questions to ask. As a result, not only was I able to win back a modicum of control in this whirlwind of shocked terror, I was finally able to understand what was happening to me.
Please follow these links to helpful questions that you can print out and bring with you to the doctor’s office.

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML)
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
If none of these apply, most or many of the questions provided will still guide you in the right direction.
